Frances Livesay (fl.1885-1914) d.1914
St.Joseph`s Chapel, Saas-Fee, Switzerland 1897
Frances Livesay was the great granddaughter of famous painter Richard Livesay (1753-1823), and spent much time travelling and painting in France and Italy. The subject is St.Joseph`s Chapel on the famous `Chapel trail` between Saas-Fee and Saas-Grund in the Swiss alps, an area not far from Zermatt and the Matterhorn and now a well known ski resort. This is part of a small collection by the artist I have acquired. Painting is double mounted and housed in a classic narrow gilt frame.
