Sheila Harvey
`Lock gates` 1976
A vibrant and stylish large oil by Derbyshire artist Sheila Harvey depicting a canal lock with reeds and grasses in the foreground. A scene very familiar to Midlands residents, where there are many overgrown and disused canals which now have a tranquil charm. Typical mid 1970`s style with a strong abstract design element and a retro feel, with a more restrained palette than her current work. A nice sunny decorative oil which will look great in a contemporary interior - not too large at 33 x 21 inches, will fit most locations. White contemporary style wooden frame.
Sheila Harvey is a Derbyshire artist who trained at Nottingham College of Art and Sheffield University. Exhibits in Derbyshire and elsewhere in the provinces. Galleries in Derbyshire and Norfolk hold her work.
